This year’s theme for the Christmas Musical is “Light Has Come.” The Lord put the theme on my heart several months ago as I was preparing the music. Isaiah prophesied in Isaiah 49:6 that the Messiah would come and that He’d be a “Light to the Gentiles.” No more darkness, no more groveling in blindness. Light would come.
Then, one night in the Bethlehem sky, a new star broke the night darkness declaring the place where Jesus was, and as the angels sang the first Noel of history something spectacular happened... Light came.
The Light grew, the Light shined. Jesus even said of Himself, “I am the light of the world: he that followeth me shall not walk in darkness, but shall have the light of life.”
Light entered my soul on March 27, 1997 when I made Jesus my King. We who have received this Light are blessed with so many wonderful privileges. I contend that the greatest responsibility we have as the children of Light is to spread the Light.
Light came. It came on that night in Bethlehem. It came for us. People in Everett need the Light. They need Jesus. This Christmas season I’m challenged and I challenge you to shine the Light. Wouldn’t it be nice to say by December 31st that Light has come... to Everett?
