As I sit at my computer and write this morning, I am full!  I am full physically from eating at the international tasting fellowship last night(wonderful time).  But more importantly I am full spiritually.  God graced us with his presence at our Missions Conference and I am left feeling extremely grateful.
It was amazing to see the desire and fervency of our church family during this conference.  The fervency was seen in our strong attendance each night.  Our passion was seen in the sacrificial giving of so many families. You could observe our burden by seeing members having a genuine love and care for each missionary that was at the conference.
As we come away from this conference I want to challenge and encourage us in a couple areas:

  1. Live in light of the gospel.

The gospel (the death burial and resurrection of Jesus) is the most powerful force on the planet. It is what has forever changed you and me, and it is the hope for the world. It is only the gospel that brings true life-change.It is only the gospel that offers hope beyond the overwhelming circumstances of life.It is only the gospel that can bring true peace to your coworker. It is only the gospel that can mend your neighbor’s broken marriage. It is only the gospel that can free your niece from her drug addiction.
Paul said it best, “I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ for it is the power of God unto salvation.”The gospel rescues and transforms lives! The solution to every problem in this world is the glorious gospel of Jesus!
“True Christianity is not a program of self-improvement; it’s an acknowledgement that something more than self-improvement is needed. What’s needed is death and resurrection: gospel words, gospel constructs, gospel motives, gospel power – a loving Redeemer!” – Fitzpatrick

  1. We must all be missionaries.

God has called us to be ambassadors for Christ (2 Cor. 5:20). We have been given the ministry of reconciliation.God has asked us to go to our neighbors, co-workers, and family members with the hope of the gospel.
Make a commitment to share the gospel when God gives you opportunities. Our burden for souls should be tied to how blessed we have been by the transforming force of the gospel, and we simply want to share that blessing.

  1. Continue in faith.

We have made faith promise commitments and there will be times ahead that your faith will be tested.During those times of testing remember the promises of God.Living by faith was never said to be easy, but it is wonderful!
When you are tempted to doubt or second guess the Lord, rest in His provision and presence. He knows what you need and when you need it.
We have enjoyed a great Missions Conference, but we must recognize that we must now fan this flame and keep our focus on what the Gospel has done in our hearts, and what God is desiring to accomplish in the hearts of others.
Keith Wright said it well "Lost people matter to God, and so they must matter to us."
